WETSUITS

A wetsuit is a neoprene garment worn in water to keep warm and protect the body. It traps a thin layer of water, which is warmed by the body, helping to retain heat. Used in surfing, watersports, and swimming, the modern wetsuit was invented in 1951-52 by physicist Hugh Bradner for the U.S. Navy. Surfer Jack O'Neill later popularised and improved the design for surfing in the late 1950s.
