DESCRIPTION
Werner Gnigler about his best ever line of all-rounders: “The proportions of width, length and volume are well proven, the key to overall ease, providing the perfect balance between all disciplines ... and the bottom curve does the rest of the magic.”
Shape details:
The slim outline in the nose area provides the feel of lightness. The centred swing weight further enhances the compact feel and the great responsiveness in manoeuvres.
In the mid-section the outline is parallel creating a big surface for early planing and stability.
Just wide enough for good planing, the narrow tail allows you to maintain control during fast runs over choppy water and – together with the thin rails – bites hard into high speed carving turns and small waves without getting stuck.
The deck shape creates a comfortable stance for all foot strap positions, providing perfect board control and excellent responsiveness.
The thruster fin box setup in combination with the inboard strap option is the perfect tuning for maximum manoeuvrability.Alternatively, the outboard strap position matches best with a single fin setup and offers the best freeride solution.
Essential shape details
The front section of the board features a significant Vee combined with double concaves making the board super comfortable and effortless to sail.
Starting between the straps and towards the tail, the Vee becomes less pronounced resulting in a very curvy rail line and thinned out rails. This is responsible for the outstanding manoeuvrability and grip during turns and further improves the wave heritage of these boards.
The rocker was reduced along the centre, not only boosting the performance level in blasting mode but also resulting in a more comfortable stance due to the loose and stable water position of the new shapes.
The 124 L version is proportionally slightly longer with a slightly wider tail to fit the needs of the target group in lighter winds. A perfectly balanced board with a huge range of use and on top of this, it is the most manoeuvrable and versatile JP board in this volume range. A real crowd pleaser!
The Freestyle Waves boards are built in JP’s light and super tough Carbon Innegra technology.
They all come with a thruster fin setup: The main fin box is a standard Powerbox partnered by two side Slotboxes with covers in case the side fins are not used. The side fins come in Carbon material. The main fin comes in G10 featuring a lot of area at the tip, a curvy outline and a smooth swept back rake angle. Thus, the fin provides a lot of drive and a secure, steady ride in combination with outstanding manoeuvrability.
It has been said before and has to be pointed out again: The Freestyle Wave concept is the ideal option for 99% of coastal-sailing recreational windsurfers. The Freestyle Wave offers so many tuning options that it can be set up perfectly for any given day, no matter what the conditions. It’s an ideal all-round high wind board for both, blasting and bump & jump sailing. It also shines as a powerful, all-round wave board for lighter winds, heavier sailors or difficult conditions and is great fun especially for huge jumps and fast carves in side to side onshore conditions.
Hassle-free medium to high wind freeriding, bump and jump blasting, classic freestyle, high speed carving, wave sailing..... You name it and the Freestyle Wave has it in its bag. Still as all-round as ever, these lively and versatile shapes are JP’s fastest and most manoeuvrable all-water toys.
No matter the conditions, you’ll simply have the best time on the water – easy!

RIDER TALK
Robby Swift: “I use these boards every year in the photoshoot and I am always surprised with the amazing early planing and almost instant arrival at top speed. The boards have a similar feel to the Magic Wave which I know well and love and are just a little more directional and faster to get planing, with a higher top speed. Ideal for bump and jump when the waves aren’t very powerful and great for flat water blasting and power freestyle moves. They jump so high and make even the most mediocre conditions fun.”
Werner Gnigler: “The development process of this generation took four years and during these years, I went through various generations of protos until I finally came up with the magic formula. Testing the latest versions in Tenerife I immediately felt that this concept was outstanding: The riding sensation and performance on both ends of its range, Wave and Freeride, was impressive. There was no question about putting these shapes in production!”
Sven Feuer: “Fast, agile, free:
This edition of the Freestyle Wave accelerates quicker, reaches high top speeds and reacts with great agility in any kind of manoeuvre. I recommend this board to those of you who are looking for a high performing but at the same time controllable board. In every aspect this board is a great further development compared to the previous version.”

from 127 reviewsAfter purchasing this wing earlier this year it has noticeably made tacks so much smoother and overall upgraded my riding. I bought the 3.0 and 5.0 metre and my 3.0m flies very well in both underpowered and overpowered conditions
I purchased the Unit SLS 2025 wing earlier this year and it has made tacks so much smoother and upgraded my riding. I also bought the Duotone Carve 3.0 D/LAB 2025 with the 800 front wing and once again it’s been a game changer, having a great amount of glide which works perfectly for both wingfoiling and kitefoiling!
All thanks to the H2O team that always have loads of knowledge, passion for watersports and go above and beyond!
Preferring not to throw away my (now discontinued) North Red boom which had a broken cuff, I called H2O to see if there was any way to salvage it. I spoke with Matt who was very knowledgeable and helpful but came off the phone somewhat resigned that I might not be able to get the part. However to my surprise a little while later I was blown away (with a force 5) when I got a call to tell me he’d sourced one for me. And here I am now, a week on, with all the bits I need to get back on the water; whoever said people don’t have time to help others! So the moral of this story is have a little faith and try H2O!

Ordered a 1350 Glide 2.0 to progress on to from my 1750 aero free. Being a heavier rider I've found it's now my go to foil wing, initially a bit harder to get on the foil compared to the aero free but once up it feels completely effort less! Thanks to the team for getting me sorted out 🤙
James, Matt and the H20 Team are absolute gurus of the water sports industry, friendly, helpful and knowledgable. They will always give the right advice and come up with superb deals and first class support, thanks guys for always helping me to make the right decisions over the last 20 + years!
My new mast arrived from H20. Sports and it was so worth the wait. You immediately notice how much stiffer it is compared to the v1 carbon version when riding. The foil feels more responsive and direct .It also glides longer in transition s and riding bumps.
Its well worth the upgrade in my opinion.
I bpught this wing to replacr my Unit 5.5 m wing for tje summer breezes as i never liked using big wings. This wing is really powerful in the low end and allows you to pump really efficiently to get on foil with a bit of technique.
You can size down by half a metre with this wing compared to a Unit.
Its still fast and so good iwhen you roll into a tack.
Perfect quiver would be a 3 m , 4m & a 5 m in the Float for all conditions.
Its a great price too as lower than Dlab and SLS wings but with great performance.
As one of the H2O riders I have really enjoyed the variety of kit H2O have available. Including the Duotone sky surf 35Ltr which quickly become my favourite board because of its shorter and thicker shape while being low in litres it still allows me to get it out the water in some lighter winds. However it comes into its own when the wind is strong and the waves are pumping with its incredible manoeuvrability. Paired with the Duotone units (that are light weight and precisely balanced) wave riding is a dream.
I've been one of those riders who thought one board was enough. Turns out a downwind board has opened up so many more days on the water. I cant believe how easy this beast gets going in 6 knots. I use my 8' board with the 1100 and 1595 Duotone Glide. It's like a whole new sport. Whilst I've tried paddling up, I think I'll stick to winging for now (although can't wait to try the Stash Parawing).
Lots of the benefits of the DLAB Unit but without the price tag. Strong, light, and powerful. It's been great in all conditions, handles really well when over powered. I bought the 3.5, 4.5 and 5.5 to cover all eventualities. Personally I prefer the handle option which works really well with my harness. Matt and the team really helpful in deciding on the sizing.
I absolutely love my 65L/4'9" Sky Style SLS Wing Board. I'm about 88kg and it suits me for most conditions. Easy planing, great in waves, sold for jumping. Incredibly light, especially when paired with a DLAB Carve 800 foil and mast, which makes it a great overseas travel option too. Carbon finish and colours look great (picture on website doesn't do it enough justice). Not a big fan of the front foot straps overlapping but going to put the new v-strap on which will sort this.
I usually go for the DLAB or SLS Concept Blue Units but this wing has had great reviews so thought I'd give it a try. Great power delivery and handling, really light weight but solid construction. The wing’s dihedral and tension profile give amazing flight balance so although designed for wave/downwind, I think this wind would suit all levels. Bought teh 5m for the summer but bought a 4 ready for the winter swell.
The 2025 Unit is a good allrounder fast, stiff & light wing.
I prefer to size down my Unit as they are really grunty wings.
They also have great top end aswell and the white colourway looks cool.
I have ridden the Skybrid SLS 70 litre and its a great hybrid board between a short wave freesyle board and a mid length shape.
Easy to get up though its narrower than my previous boards and does require a little more effort.
The big advantage is the early planing speed to get on foil and the glide.
Its a good allrounder in waves and flat water.
