ADDING MAGIC TO THE ULTIMATE WAVE EXCELLENCE
The ultimate windsurfing experience is riding clean waves down-the-line, which is the core purpose these boards are designed for.
FULL DESCRIPTION
It earned titles on the IWT Wave tour and dominated the Aloha Classic over recent years. However, the new boards are even better, and we expect them to be even more successful in competitions. But whether you win or not, these boards are guaranteed to deliver an incredible ride and enhance your wave-sailing abilities. So, serious wave riders, get ready to up your performance and to get even more out of everything from mediocre to epic conditions.
The feedback from our riders using their Magic Waves on the world tour was instrumental in the development of our new generation of Ultimate Waves. We aimed to bring some of that liveliness and agility to our down-the-line boards, creating an even more engaged and reliable ride so advanced wave sailors can push their limits further.
When shaper Werner Gnigler built the first prototypes of our new generation of Ultimate Waves, he blended the Magic Wave tail with the Ultimate Wave nose. The result was a board that allowed riders to go more vertical, hit lips with greater confidence and control, and plane much more quickly than the previous Ultimates. These hybrid boards are fun to ride and incredibly controllable, regardless of wave height.
With regards to the shape, we made some significant changes to our new generation of Ultimate Waves. The centre scoop rocker line became straighter, while maintaining more bottom curve along the rails. Werner also developed an interesting Vee transformation that starts with a moderate Vee in the nose area, changes to a single concave between the straps, and finishes off with a slight Vee at the tail. These changes have improved early planing and pace, allowing you to ride waves with more speed, confidence, control, and a noticeably more radical style.
The smooth outline and thin, soft rails finish off into a refined swallow tail – a must have feature on this kind of board for maximum grip in high speed turns and ultimate acceleration carving tight turns in smaller surf.
The fin box and standing positions have been moved back slightly, giving riders the ability to adjust their turns at any time with either front or back foot pressure. This allows for greater control and manoeuvrability on the wave, letting riders truly unleash their skills and creativity from small to giant surf.
This year, all five fin boxes are slot boxes, with the ones for the side fins being even shorter. Also, the layup was adjusted slightly, and the light boards provide a surfboard-like feel, making them easy to control and fun to ride.
Summary
Our new Ultimate Waves now have improved planing performance that puts them on par with the renowned Magic Wave. With faster carving, improved speed, and better grip and rail bite, these full-on down-the-line boards are the ultimate choice for any wave spot in any condition. RIDER TALK
Morgan Noireaux:
"I've personally never been so excited for a board before. The new Ultimate wave has a completely new shape and I think it is better in every way. It's faster, smoother, and turns better. It's the culmination of a lot hard work by Werner and the team these past few years. I've spent a lot of time on it and I've never felt so comfortable or confident on a board in all conditions. It's super dependable on the wave, it never does anything strange and goes exactly where I want it to. It's also a lot faster overall which is amazing in lighter winds and more onshore conditions. It's an easier board to sail but has the ability to be super radical. I think Werner was absolutely spot on with this board and I'm really looking forward to sailing and competing on it this season!"
Robby Swift:
“The first prototypes Werner made for me were a hybrid of the Magic Wave tail with the Ultimate Wave nose and I knew we were already on a magic pathway as they quickly became the only boards I used.
I feel like I can go more vertical than ever and hit lips or pull critical carves with far more confidence and control. This added to the fact that the new board planes much quicker than the previous ultimate wave makes me think that sailors across the world are going to really appreciate this entirely new board in JP’s line-up. I have used the board in 2 foot waves at Ho’okipa and 40 foot waves at Jaws and find it equally fun to ride and controllable at each end of the spectrum and all the way in between.”

from 127 reviewsAfter purchasing this wing earlier this year it has noticeably made tacks so much smoother and overall upgraded my riding. I bought the 3.0 and 5.0 metre and my 3.0m flies very well in both underpowered and overpowered conditions
I purchased the Unit SLS 2025 wing earlier this year and it has made tacks so much smoother and upgraded my riding. I also bought the Duotone Carve 3.0 D/LAB 2025 with the 800 front wing and once again it’s been a game changer, having a great amount of glide which works perfectly for both wingfoiling and kitefoiling!
All thanks to the H2O team that always have loads of knowledge, passion for watersports and go above and beyond!
Preferring not to throw away my (now discontinued) North Red boom which had a broken cuff, I called H2O to see if there was any way to salvage it. I spoke with Matt who was very knowledgeable and helpful but came off the phone somewhat resigned that I might not be able to get the part. However to my surprise a little while later I was blown away (with a force 5) when I got a call to tell me he’d sourced one for me. And here I am now, a week on, with all the bits I need to get back on the water; whoever said people don’t have time to help others! So the moral of this story is have a little faith and try H2O!

Ordered a 1350 Glide 2.0 to progress on to from my 1750 aero free. Being a heavier rider I've found it's now my go to foil wing, initially a bit harder to get on the foil compared to the aero free but once up it feels completely effort less! Thanks to the team for getting me sorted out 🤙
James, Matt and the H20 Team are absolute gurus of the water sports industry, friendly, helpful and knowledgable. They will always give the right advice and come up with superb deals and first class support, thanks guys for always helping me to make the right decisions over the last 20 + years!
My new mast arrived from H20. Sports and it was so worth the wait. You immediately notice how much stiffer it is compared to the v1 carbon version when riding. The foil feels more responsive and direct .It also glides longer in transition s and riding bumps.
Its well worth the upgrade in my opinion.
I bpught this wing to replacr my Unit 5.5 m wing for tje summer breezes as i never liked using big wings. This wing is really powerful in the low end and allows you to pump really efficiently to get on foil with a bit of technique.
You can size down by half a metre with this wing compared to a Unit.
Its still fast and so good iwhen you roll into a tack.
Perfect quiver would be a 3 m , 4m & a 5 m in the Float for all conditions.
Its a great price too as lower than Dlab and SLS wings but with great performance.
As one of the H2O riders I have really enjoyed the variety of kit H2O have available. Including the Duotone sky surf 35Ltr which quickly become my favourite board because of its shorter and thicker shape while being low in litres it still allows me to get it out the water in some lighter winds. However it comes into its own when the wind is strong and the waves are pumping with its incredible manoeuvrability. Paired with the Duotone units (that are light weight and precisely balanced) wave riding is a dream.
I've been one of those riders who thought one board was enough. Turns out a downwind board has opened up so many more days on the water. I cant believe how easy this beast gets going in 6 knots. I use my 8' board with the 1100 and 1595 Duotone Glide. It's like a whole new sport. Whilst I've tried paddling up, I think I'll stick to winging for now (although can't wait to try the Stash Parawing).
Lots of the benefits of the DLAB Unit but without the price tag. Strong, light, and powerful. It's been great in all conditions, handles really well when over powered. I bought the 3.5, 4.5 and 5.5 to cover all eventualities. Personally I prefer the handle option which works really well with my harness. Matt and the team really helpful in deciding on the sizing.
I absolutely love my 65L/4'9" Sky Style SLS Wing Board. I'm about 88kg and it suits me for most conditions. Easy planing, great in waves, sold for jumping. Incredibly light, especially when paired with a DLAB Carve 800 foil and mast, which makes it a great overseas travel option too. Carbon finish and colours look great (picture on website doesn't do it enough justice). Not a big fan of the front foot straps overlapping but going to put the new v-strap on which will sort this.
I usually go for the DLAB or SLS Concept Blue Units but this wing has had great reviews so thought I'd give it a try. Great power delivery and handling, really light weight but solid construction. The wing’s dihedral and tension profile give amazing flight balance so although designed for wave/downwind, I think this wind would suit all levels. Bought teh 5m for the summer but bought a 4 ready for the winter swell.
The 2025 Unit is a good allrounder fast, stiff & light wing.
I prefer to size down my Unit as they are really grunty wings.
They also have great top end aswell and the white colourway looks cool.
I have ridden the Skybrid SLS 70 litre and its a great hybrid board between a short wave freesyle board and a mid length shape.
Easy to get up though its narrower than my previous boards and does require a little more effort.
The big advantage is the early planing speed to get on foil and the glide.
Its a good allrounder in waves and flat water.
