SUPER_HERO D/LAB VS. DUKE SLS
• Both sails have this unique and very similar crisp feeling
• On the Duke SLS this is achieved through the additional 5th batten
and CARBON XPLY in the high load areas
• Despite one batten less on the Super_Hero D/LAB we achieve the same crispness through a higher CARBON XPLY content and the FUSED MONOCOQUE BODY CONSTRUCTION
• Thanks to the 4 battens though the Super_Hero D/LAB has an even lighter physical- & sailing weight
The Super_Hero got upgraded and replaced by the Super_Hero SLS.
The most obvious improvement is a radical weight reduction of 450g. This means that the SLS version is now as light as the Super_Hero D/LAB. We have achieved this by using a similar material composition as on
the Super_Hero D/LAB incorporating CARBON XPLY in the high tension tack- and head areas as well as on batten pockets 2 and 3.
But most importantly we have achieved this super light weight WITHOUT using an ultra-thin XPLY laminate on the main panel above the boom.
Compared to any other ultralight wave sail out there this results in 2 crucial advantages:
• Lab and on water tests confirm that the puncture- and UV-resistance depend only on the film thickness. That’s why we are the only brand to offer an extended 5 YEAR WARRANTY on both our wave sails.
• Lab and on water tests confirm that the overall stretch depends mainly on the film thickness. Ok, you can compensate for some of this by increasing the thread/yarn density. But the space in-between the threads will always stretch.
This is the reason why Super_Hero SLS and D/LAB have the biggest wind range of all wave sails out there!
