BEST IN ALLROUND WAVE CLASS
The board has clearly earned its reputation as one of the hottest all-rounders. It saw excellent test reports worldwide and – even more importantly – the word of mouth from impressed owners has made it an enormous success since its introduction and the demand of this board does not show any signs of slowing down.
DESCRIPTION
This all-round wave concept combines and outperforms the best characteristics of our previous, all-time favourite JP wave designs. The Magic Wave drew from the speed of the Thruster Quad, versatility of the Wave Slates, ease of sailing of the Real World Waves. It also offers incredible speed and confidence on the wave, matching the performance of the Ultimate Wave in most conditions, even in waves up to and over mast high.
Extremely quick to get planing and reaching top speed, the Magic Wave pops over white water effortlessly and jumps extremely high. It offers both front and back foot wave riding possibilities, gaining speed and control from the advanced rocker shape, beautiful rails and wide, thin, ultra-high performance swallow tail.
Confidence, speed, comfort and grip on the wave all combine into a board that feels carvy and loose on the wave face, while still offering the essential speed needed for more onshore conditions.
This all-round board excels in mediocre conditions and does not compromise on wave performance.
The concept of a wider swallow tail board with an equally wide nose provided the stable base for developing its special rocker that is extremely fast without being too stiff on the wave. The very fast, early planing Wave Slate and the multiple award winning Freestyle Wave were good benchmarks during the development process. The new Magic Wave equals or betters the Wave Slate in early planing, low end, top speed, versatility and looseness on the wave. And its planing performance comes close that of the Freestyle Wave.
Shaper Werner Gnigler disconnected the centre scoop rocker line from the rail line. So, the traditionally known rocker along the centre does not exist anymore in the tail area. Werner combined V and concaves along the bottom which created a curvy rail line and resulted in the magic combination of fast, early planing boards with outstanding manoeuvrability.
The more parallel rail outline that we gain from the wider nose and tail really helps with early planing and keeping speed through white water. It also is easier to keep as much speed as possible through the bottom turn in onshore conditions and side-shore alike. You can use a smaller sail and feel less overpowered with this new design which makes wave riding and jumping feel much more comfortable and controllable.
Jumping is easy on this board because the wide nose and tail give more lift when hitting the wave, so you automatically jump a little bit higher. When you come down to land forward and backwards rotating moves, you have more board under your feet and at the nose which makes for a more forgiving landing.
The small 68 suits lighter riders providing control when the conditions get extremely gnarly. On the other side of the range, that 115 is the biggest of JP's dedicated wave boards suiting biggest of riders.
The boards come with 3 Slotboxes and a set of thruster fins. The main fin features a traditional outline and sufficient area, especially in the tip. Thus, planing and maintaining speed is easy. The fins are forgiving in manoeuvres and smoothen the ride. The thruster fin setup grants the widest possible range of wave use.
The boards are built in S-Glass technology with Innegra Parabolic Rails.
JP’s greatest all-round wave design still performs at its best in onshore jumping and wave riding. The Magic Wave jumps higher and rides small to medium sized waves better than the Ultimate Wave but it doesn’t stop there. It holds its own in far bigger waves than you would expect, meaning that you can really choose 1 board for 90% of wave conditions and will almost never be under-gunned in big surf or lacking performance in small surf. Get out and try yourself.

RIDER TALK
Robby Swift:
“The Magic Wave is my board of choice for about 90% of the conditions I sail in and I really can’t say enough good things about this board. We spent years developing the shape in order to create an “all-round” wave board that does not compromise in wave riding. This was crucial for me as I needed a really fast board to be able to use in side and onshore PWA wave competitions and wave riding is such an important part of competition that the board had to perform extremely well on the wave as well. I absolutely love the versatility of these boards as I can use them from Sylt to Ho’okipa. From straight onshore with light winds to windy side shore conditions, they feel great everywhere. As soon as I step onto the board, I feel like I can reach top speed in seconds and this really helps me to jump as high as possible, especially when the waves are close together and I have to punch through white-water and get going again quickly. The wider nose and tail help to gain extra height in jumps and give me more margin for error when landing aerials, goiters and 360s. All in all, it’s the board I recommend to most people as it’s so much fun to sail in so many different conditions.”
Morgan Noireaux:
"The Magic Wave continues to be my go to board when conditions are a bit tricky and I want to make sure I'm moving around and always having fun. I love how quick it is and how easily it gets planing. This makes it the perfect board for when the conditions are a bit tougher. If the wind is onshore or the waves are messy I'm not using anything else. The extra speed makes it a fantastic board for jumping but it also happens to turn really well though, so, it's a board that can be used in all conditions. It's super easy to use and I always have a good session when I use this board."
Marino Gil Gherardi:
“The Magic is the perfect board for side to onshore conditions! I love to sail this board in my hometown and it feels really nice! I used it in all type of conditions! It is such a fun board! I love it since the first time I used it! I used from the smallest sizes to the biggest ones and I love them all!”

from 127 reviewsAfter purchasing this wing earlier this year it has noticeably made tacks so much smoother and overall upgraded my riding. I bought the 3.0 and 5.0 metre and my 3.0m flies very well in both underpowered and overpowered conditions
I purchased the Unit SLS 2025 wing earlier this year and it has made tacks so much smoother and upgraded my riding. I also bought the Duotone Carve 3.0 D/LAB 2025 with the 800 front wing and once again it’s been a game changer, having a great amount of glide which works perfectly for both wingfoiling and kitefoiling!
All thanks to the H2O team that always have loads of knowledge, passion for watersports and go above and beyond!
Preferring not to throw away my (now discontinued) North Red boom which had a broken cuff, I called H2O to see if there was any way to salvage it. I spoke with Matt who was very knowledgeable and helpful but came off the phone somewhat resigned that I might not be able to get the part. However to my surprise a little while later I was blown away (with a force 5) when I got a call to tell me he’d sourced one for me. And here I am now, a week on, with all the bits I need to get back on the water; whoever said people don’t have time to help others! So the moral of this story is have a little faith and try H2O!

Ordered a 1350 Glide 2.0 to progress on to from my 1750 aero free. Being a heavier rider I've found it's now my go to foil wing, initially a bit harder to get on the foil compared to the aero free but once up it feels completely effort less! Thanks to the team for getting me sorted out 🤙
James, Matt and the H20 Team are absolute gurus of the water sports industry, friendly, helpful and knowledgable. They will always give the right advice and come up with superb deals and first class support, thanks guys for always helping me to make the right decisions over the last 20 + years!
My new mast arrived from H20. Sports and it was so worth the wait. You immediately notice how much stiffer it is compared to the v1 carbon version when riding. The foil feels more responsive and direct .It also glides longer in transition s and riding bumps.
Its well worth the upgrade in my opinion.
I bpught this wing to replacr my Unit 5.5 m wing for tje summer breezes as i never liked using big wings. This wing is really powerful in the low end and allows you to pump really efficiently to get on foil with a bit of technique.
You can size down by half a metre with this wing compared to a Unit.
Its still fast and so good iwhen you roll into a tack.
Perfect quiver would be a 3 m , 4m & a 5 m in the Float for all conditions.
Its a great price too as lower than Dlab and SLS wings but with great performance.
As one of the H2O riders I have really enjoyed the variety of kit H2O have available. Including the Duotone sky surf 35Ltr which quickly become my favourite board because of its shorter and thicker shape while being low in litres it still allows me to get it out the water in some lighter winds. However it comes into its own when the wind is strong and the waves are pumping with its incredible manoeuvrability. Paired with the Duotone units (that are light weight and precisely balanced) wave riding is a dream.
I've been one of those riders who thought one board was enough. Turns out a downwind board has opened up so many more days on the water. I cant believe how easy this beast gets going in 6 knots. I use my 8' board with the 1100 and 1595 Duotone Glide. It's like a whole new sport. Whilst I've tried paddling up, I think I'll stick to winging for now (although can't wait to try the Stash Parawing).
Lots of the benefits of the DLAB Unit but without the price tag. Strong, light, and powerful. It's been great in all conditions, handles really well when over powered. I bought the 3.5, 4.5 and 5.5 to cover all eventualities. Personally I prefer the handle option which works really well with my harness. Matt and the team really helpful in deciding on the sizing.
I absolutely love my 65L/4'9" Sky Style SLS Wing Board. I'm about 88kg and it suits me for most conditions. Easy planing, great in waves, sold for jumping. Incredibly light, especially when paired with a DLAB Carve 800 foil and mast, which makes it a great overseas travel option too. Carbon finish and colours look great (picture on website doesn't do it enough justice). Not a big fan of the front foot straps overlapping but going to put the new v-strap on which will sort this.
I usually go for the DLAB or SLS Concept Blue Units but this wing has had great reviews so thought I'd give it a try. Great power delivery and handling, really light weight but solid construction. The wing’s dihedral and tension profile give amazing flight balance so although designed for wave/downwind, I think this wind would suit all levels. Bought teh 5m for the summer but bought a 4 ready for the winter swell.
The 2025 Unit is a good allrounder fast, stiff & light wing.
I prefer to size down my Unit as they are really grunty wings.
They also have great top end aswell and the white colourway looks cool.
I have ridden the Skybrid SLS 70 litre and its a great hybrid board between a short wave freesyle board and a mid length shape.
Easy to get up though its narrower than my previous boards and does require a little more effort.
The big advantage is the early planing speed to get on foil and the glide.
Its a good allrounder in waves and flat water.
