Year two and the revolution of the requirements in the free move segment caused by the Magic Move continues. These boards target riders seeking a 90 to 110 L sporty board for easy and early planing. This dynamic design offers an exhilarating ride, excelling in speed and maneuverability.
DESCRIPTION
It is the new ‚Master of the Carve‘ for sporty and aggressive jibes and to play in small swell. It is great for riding open ocean swells and can even tackle reef and coastal waves, it remains unstoppable. This year, shaper Werner Gnigler’s praise for the board’s versatility and comfort is echoed by many enthusiastic owners and riders: “Planing jibes and effortless planing guaranteed!”
The Magic Move is more than only a small Freeride board. It better is compared to the Freestyle Wave than pure freeride designs, which are usually larger and designed for lighter wind and flat water. Therefore, it stands proudly next to the Freestyle Wave as its powerful brother.
The Magic Move supports riders when it matters: Thanks to its wider tail, it planes earlier and easier than the Freestyle Wave. It stays on the plane when the wind is fluky and takes more speed through planing manoeuvres. And it is clearly more manoeuvrable and feels more at home in swell than previous small JP freeride designs
Consequently Werner used the Freestyle Waves as his starting point for development and adapt a few parameters to achieve the desired improvements. Here they are…
Shape details:
Compared to our Freestyle Wave line the Magic Moves are slightly longer, wider and equipped with a noticeably wider tail with additional volume. The outline in the mid-section of the board is kept rather parallel, offering a wide planing surface. This in combination with the even volume distribution makes the shapes very stable when non-planing and lifts the rider onto the plane effortlessly with almost no pumping needed
A essential design feature of these boards is the refined new rail shape: Lifting the apex point along the midsection towards the nose creates extra lift which helps tremendously to maintain speed during the jibe and exit with speed.
Towards the tail, the rail shape tapers down and finishes off with a noticeable step rail. This feature allows the use of a wider tail and still guarantees optimal grip and bite in tight turns when hitting white-water.
The shapes use a flat scoop rocker line designed for early planing an high speed. The pronounced double concave V in the front works like suspension when hitting chop.
Reducing the V towards the area between the foot straps and increasing it again towards the tail disconnects the rail shape from the centre scoop rocker line. This also supports the outstanding mix of performance and manoeuvrability.
The Magic Moves are equipped with various foot strap options and a single fin Powerbox for the perfect customizable set up.
The boards’ Freestyle Wave fins feature a lot of area at the tip, a curvy outline and a smooth, swept back rake angle. Thus, the fin provides a lot of drive and a secure, steady ride in combination with outstanding manoeuvrability.
Summing it up, the boards plane earlier than Freestyle Wave boards and are much better at taking speed through the jibe and staying on the plane during turns. Compared to freeride boards they are more versatile and loose, thus livelier and more fun.
Easy-going medium to high wind freemove boards for freeriding and bump & jump blasting. They excel in manoeuvres and they willingly plane through the jibe with speed. Ideal for high wind freeride windsurfing on fresh water as well as on the sea.

RIDER TALK
Nico Prien: “The Magic Move carves excellently through sporty jibes. It leaves the option for either tight or wide turns and helps to absorb chop, so you can focus on executing the jibe.”
Werner Gnigler: “Inspired and developed in close cooperation with our Surf Centres and Clients around the world. The endless search for the perfect jibe and an early planing Free Move board made us come up with this new concept. The result proofed us right that the direction of the concept helps riders improving their jibes and lifts them onto the plane effortlessly. Testing was a lot of fun and I paid special attention on a thrilling riding sensation and high speed potential. It was incredible how easy everyone mastered planing jibes, carried the speed through the turns and managed to play with ocean swells.”

from 127 reviewsAfter purchasing this wing earlier this year it has noticeably made tacks so much smoother and overall upgraded my riding. I bought the 3.0 and 5.0 metre and my 3.0m flies very well in both underpowered and overpowered conditions
I purchased the Unit SLS 2025 wing earlier this year and it has made tacks so much smoother and upgraded my riding. I also bought the Duotone Carve 3.0 D/LAB 2025 with the 800 front wing and once again it’s been a game changer, having a great amount of glide which works perfectly for both wingfoiling and kitefoiling!
All thanks to the H2O team that always have loads of knowledge, passion for watersports and go above and beyond!
Preferring not to throw away my (now discontinued) North Red boom which had a broken cuff, I called H2O to see if there was any way to salvage it. I spoke with Matt who was very knowledgeable and helpful but came off the phone somewhat resigned that I might not be able to get the part. However to my surprise a little while later I was blown away (with a force 5) when I got a call to tell me he’d sourced one for me. And here I am now, a week on, with all the bits I need to get back on the water; whoever said people don’t have time to help others! So the moral of this story is have a little faith and try H2O!

Ordered a 1350 Glide 2.0 to progress on to from my 1750 aero free. Being a heavier rider I've found it's now my go to foil wing, initially a bit harder to get on the foil compared to the aero free but once up it feels completely effort less! Thanks to the team for getting me sorted out 🤙
James, Matt and the H20 Team are absolute gurus of the water sports industry, friendly, helpful and knowledgable. They will always give the right advice and come up with superb deals and first class support, thanks guys for always helping me to make the right decisions over the last 20 + years!
My new mast arrived from H20. Sports and it was so worth the wait. You immediately notice how much stiffer it is compared to the v1 carbon version when riding. The foil feels more responsive and direct .It also glides longer in transition s and riding bumps.
Its well worth the upgrade in my opinion.
I bpught this wing to replacr my Unit 5.5 m wing for tje summer breezes as i never liked using big wings. This wing is really powerful in the low end and allows you to pump really efficiently to get on foil with a bit of technique.
You can size down by half a metre with this wing compared to a Unit.
Its still fast and so good iwhen you roll into a tack.
Perfect quiver would be a 3 m , 4m & a 5 m in the Float for all conditions.
Its a great price too as lower than Dlab and SLS wings but with great performance.
As one of the H2O riders I have really enjoyed the variety of kit H2O have available. Including the Duotone sky surf 35Ltr which quickly become my favourite board because of its shorter and thicker shape while being low in litres it still allows me to get it out the water in some lighter winds. However it comes into its own when the wind is strong and the waves are pumping with its incredible manoeuvrability. Paired with the Duotone units (that are light weight and precisely balanced) wave riding is a dream.
I've been one of those riders who thought one board was enough. Turns out a downwind board has opened up so many more days on the water. I cant believe how easy this beast gets going in 6 knots. I use my 8' board with the 1100 and 1595 Duotone Glide. It's like a whole new sport. Whilst I've tried paddling up, I think I'll stick to winging for now (although can't wait to try the Stash Parawing).
Lots of the benefits of the DLAB Unit but without the price tag. Strong, light, and powerful. It's been great in all conditions, handles really well when over powered. I bought the 3.5, 4.5 and 5.5 to cover all eventualities. Personally I prefer the handle option which works really well with my harness. Matt and the team really helpful in deciding on the sizing.
I absolutely love my 65L/4'9" Sky Style SLS Wing Board. I'm about 88kg and it suits me for most conditions. Easy planing, great in waves, sold for jumping. Incredibly light, especially when paired with a DLAB Carve 800 foil and mast, which makes it a great overseas travel option too. Carbon finish and colours look great (picture on website doesn't do it enough justice). Not a big fan of the front foot straps overlapping but going to put the new v-strap on which will sort this.
I usually go for the DLAB or SLS Concept Blue Units but this wing has had great reviews so thought I'd give it a try. Great power delivery and handling, really light weight but solid construction. The wing’s dihedral and tension profile give amazing flight balance so although designed for wave/downwind, I think this wind would suit all levels. Bought teh 5m for the summer but bought a 4 ready for the winter swell.
The 2025 Unit is a good allrounder fast, stiff & light wing.
I prefer to size down my Unit as they are really grunty wings.
They also have great top end aswell and the white colourway looks cool.
I have ridden the Skybrid SLS 70 litre and its a great hybrid board between a short wave freesyle board and a mid length shape.
Easy to get up though its narrower than my previous boards and does require a little more effort.
The big advantage is the early planing speed to get on foil and the glide.
Its a good allrounder in waves and flat water.
