WAVE EXCELLENCE IN ULTIMATE TECHNOLOGY
Introduced last year, these shapes burst into the wave scene with force: In no time, the word of mouth spread that they are the ultimate wave boards! This year’s innovation is a brand new technology called S-TEC which boosts the boards’ performance to a whole new level.
DESCRIPTION
This year, the standout detail is our groundbreaking S-TEC technology, introduced for the first time in the JP lineup. The weight saving is impressive: This generation of Ultimate Wave boards is about 700 grams lighter! This is achieved through several key changes:
No paint
Reduction of anti-slip, used only in standing areas
Smaller pads – less EVA and less glue
Elimination of the rear centre fin box
Refined custom lamination process, with fibres prepared and laminated separately
The durability maintained at the proven level by replacing the Innegra material with more high-quality S-glass, combined with Biax-Carbon reinforcements and UD Carbon layers underneath the high density PVC. Additionally, the bottom laminate no longer stops at the tuck line but wraps around the rail. Together with the overlapping deck laminate, it acts as an additional stringer along the rails, providing more rigidity and strengthening the rail simultaneously
This not only creates a totally new look, but being more than a half kilogram lighter delivers a new riding sensation!
The ultimate windsurfing experience is riding clean waves down-the-line, which is the core purpose these boards are designed for. Each generation of our pure-wave boards has been refined to enhance this experience, and the previouslines were already masterpieces in this respect, earning titles on the IWT Wave tour and dominating the Aloha Classic over recent years. However, the current boards are even better, and we expect them to be even more successful in competitions. But whether you win or not, these boards are guaranteed to deliver an incredible ride and enhance your wave-sailing abilities. So, serious wave riders, get ready to up your performance and get even more out of everything from mediocre to epic conditions.
The positive feedback from riders using their Magic Wave on the world tour was instrumental in the development of these Ultimate Waves.
We aimed to bring some of that liveliness and agility to our down-the-line boards, creating an even more engaged and reliable ride so advanced wave sailors can push their limits further.
Shaper Werner Gnigler achieved this by blending the Magic Wave swallow tail with the Ultimate Wave nose. The result is a board that allows you to go more vertical and hit lips with greater confidence and control. These hybrid boards are fun to ride and incredibly controllable, regardless of wave height.
One of the most essential features of this shape is the straight centre scoop rocker line, paired with a lot more bottom curve along the rails. Werner combines this with an interesting Vee transformation that starts with a moderate Vee in the nose area, changes to a single concave between the straps, and finishes off with a slight Vee at the tail. This results in easy early planing and instant pace, allowing you to ride waves with more speed, confidence, control, and a noticeably more radical style.
The smooth outline and thin, soft rails finish off into a refined swallow tail – a must have feature on this kind of board for maximum grip in high speed turns and ultimate acceleration carving tight turns in smaller surf.
The fin box and standing positions are slightly further back compared to previous models, giving riders the ability to adjust their turns at any time with either front or back foot pressure. This allows for greater control and manoeuvrability on the wave, letting riders truly unleash their skills and creativity from small to giant surf.
QUAD FIN BOXES / NO FINS:
Efficient and economical: In 2025 the boards come with four slot boxes for the quad setup. The boxes for the side fins are even shorter for better performance. The rarely used alternative centre box was omitted for cost and weight reasons.
Most riders who are interested in a dedicated wave board already have their own favourite wave fins and do not need additional ones. Therefore, the boards are delivered without fins, which also helps to keep the costs low.
Summary
The Ultimate Waves already impressed with their planing performance, and now, thanks to the new technology, this performance is even better.
With faster carving, improved speed, and better grip and rail bite, these full-on down-the-line boards are the ultimate choice for any wave spot in any condition. Whether you're a pro or an intermediate sailor, get ready to push harder and carve turns on anything from medium to XXL waves with our incredibly light Ultimate Waves – the ultimate wave board!

RIDER TALK
Robby Swift: These boards were already extremely exciting new additions to our line last year, but this year with the introduction of S-Tec technology, they have become significantly lighter. I actually couldn’t believe the difference in weight when I first picked them up. The light-weight feeling makes the board feel so much livelier on the water and also get planing just that little bit quicker. This is definitely the biggest upgrade in performance we have ever had without completely changing a board’s shape.
Marino Gil Gherardi: "The Ultimate is my go-to board for epic waves and nice winds! I'm super stoked with how well this board is working: it turns amazing and has helped me a lot with my sailing and surfing! I can go vertically and steer the board anywhere I want!"
Morgan Noireaux: "The Ultimate Wave is fast, smooth, and turns great. It's the culmination of a lot hard work by Werner and the team these past few years. I've spent a lot of time on it and I've never felt so comfortable or confident on a board in all conditions. It's super dependable on the wave, it never does anything strange and goes exactly where I want it to. It's also a lot faster overall which is amazing in lighter winds and more onshore conditions. It's an easier board to sail but has the ability to be super radical. I think Werner was absolutely spot on with this board and I really love to sail and compete on it !"

from 127 reviewsAfter purchasing this wing earlier this year it has noticeably made tacks so much smoother and overall upgraded my riding. I bought the 3.0 and 5.0 metre and my 3.0m flies very well in both underpowered and overpowered conditions
I purchased the Unit SLS 2025 wing earlier this year and it has made tacks so much smoother and upgraded my riding. I also bought the Duotone Carve 3.0 D/LAB 2025 with the 800 front wing and once again it’s been a game changer, having a great amount of glide which works perfectly for both wingfoiling and kitefoiling!
All thanks to the H2O team that always have loads of knowledge, passion for watersports and go above and beyond!
Preferring not to throw away my (now discontinued) North Red boom which had a broken cuff, I called H2O to see if there was any way to salvage it. I spoke with Matt who was very knowledgeable and helpful but came off the phone somewhat resigned that I might not be able to get the part. However to my surprise a little while later I was blown away (with a force 5) when I got a call to tell me he’d sourced one for me. And here I am now, a week on, with all the bits I need to get back on the water; whoever said people don’t have time to help others! So the moral of this story is have a little faith and try H2O!

Ordered a 1350 Glide 2.0 to progress on to from my 1750 aero free. Being a heavier rider I've found it's now my go to foil wing, initially a bit harder to get on the foil compared to the aero free but once up it feels completely effort less! Thanks to the team for getting me sorted out 🤙
James, Matt and the H20 Team are absolute gurus of the water sports industry, friendly, helpful and knowledgable. They will always give the right advice and come up with superb deals and first class support, thanks guys for always helping me to make the right decisions over the last 20 + years!
My new mast arrived from H20. Sports and it was so worth the wait. You immediately notice how much stiffer it is compared to the v1 carbon version when riding. The foil feels more responsive and direct .It also glides longer in transition s and riding bumps.
Its well worth the upgrade in my opinion.
I bpught this wing to replacr my Unit 5.5 m wing for tje summer breezes as i never liked using big wings. This wing is really powerful in the low end and allows you to pump really efficiently to get on foil with a bit of technique.
You can size down by half a metre with this wing compared to a Unit.
Its still fast and so good iwhen you roll into a tack.
Perfect quiver would be a 3 m , 4m & a 5 m in the Float for all conditions.
Its a great price too as lower than Dlab and SLS wings but with great performance.
As one of the H2O riders I have really enjoyed the variety of kit H2O have available. Including the Duotone sky surf 35Ltr which quickly become my favourite board because of its shorter and thicker shape while being low in litres it still allows me to get it out the water in some lighter winds. However it comes into its own when the wind is strong and the waves are pumping with its incredible manoeuvrability. Paired with the Duotone units (that are light weight and precisely balanced) wave riding is a dream.
I've been one of those riders who thought one board was enough. Turns out a downwind board has opened up so many more days on the water. I cant believe how easy this beast gets going in 6 knots. I use my 8' board with the 1100 and 1595 Duotone Glide. It's like a whole new sport. Whilst I've tried paddling up, I think I'll stick to winging for now (although can't wait to try the Stash Parawing).
Lots of the benefits of the DLAB Unit but without the price tag. Strong, light, and powerful. It's been great in all conditions, handles really well when over powered. I bought the 3.5, 4.5 and 5.5 to cover all eventualities. Personally I prefer the handle option which works really well with my harness. Matt and the team really helpful in deciding on the sizing.
I absolutely love my 65L/4'9" Sky Style SLS Wing Board. I'm about 88kg and it suits me for most conditions. Easy planing, great in waves, sold for jumping. Incredibly light, especially when paired with a DLAB Carve 800 foil and mast, which makes it a great overseas travel option too. Carbon finish and colours look great (picture on website doesn't do it enough justice). Not a big fan of the front foot straps overlapping but going to put the new v-strap on which will sort this.
I usually go for the DLAB or SLS Concept Blue Units but this wing has had great reviews so thought I'd give it a try. Great power delivery and handling, really light weight but solid construction. The wing’s dihedral and tension profile give amazing flight balance so although designed for wave/downwind, I think this wind would suit all levels. Bought teh 5m for the summer but bought a 4 ready for the winter swell.
The 2025 Unit is a good allrounder fast, stiff & light wing.
I prefer to size down my Unit as they are really grunty wings.
They also have great top end aswell and the white colourway looks cool.
I have ridden the Skybrid SLS 70 litre and its a great hybrid board between a short wave freesyle board and a mid length shape.
Easy to get up though its narrower than my previous boards and does require a little more effort.
The big advantage is the early planing speed to get on foil and the glide.
Its a good allrounder in waves and flat water.
