This range of Freestyle boards, developed in collaboration with JP's freestyle experts Yentel Caers and Sam Esteve, was introduced only last year. Our event winning shapes are short, responsive, and radical, allowing riders to spin, rotate, and pop with unparalleled speed and precision. Despite their liveliness, these boards still offer the early planing and speed potential of their predecessors. The tail provides a powerful pop for multiple rotations and more impressive freestyle moves all-round. All the cool moves you and the pros can pull off will be lighter this year thanks to our brand-new technology called S-TEC which allows the most significant weight savings ever made in our Freestyle range and boost the boards’ performance to a whole new level.
DESCRIPTION
At JP, we've always been at the forefront of freestyle board design, working closely with our team riders to push the limits and set new trends in the sport. Our current shapes are no exception, with a relentless focus on enhancing new school freestyle potential while maintaining our high standards of overall ride and performance.
This year, the standout detail is our groundbreaking S-TEC technology, introduced for the first time in the JP lineup. The weight saving is impressive: This generation of Freestyle boards is between 300 and 400 grams lighter! This is achieved through several key changes:
* No paint
* Reduction of anti-slip, used only in standing areas
* Smaller and thinner pads – less EVA and less glue
* Refined custom lamination process, with fibres prepared and laminated separately
Durability has been maintained at the proven level by replacing the Innegra material with more high-quality S-glass, Biax-Carbon reinforcements and UD Carbon layers underneath the high-density PVC. Additionally, the bottom laminate no longer stops at the tuck line but wraps around the rail. Together with the overlapping deck laminate, it acts as an additional stringer along the rails, providing more rigidity and strengthening the rail simultaneously.
This not only creates a totally new look, but being about 300 grams lighter delivers an improved riding sensation! With these new boards, you can be sure that you're getting the very best in freestyle technology, backed by years of experience and a dedication to excellence that's second to none.
Success in modern freestyle depends on double power moves, so we focused our development on speed during pop in order to make triple moves the next standard. To achieve this, shaper Werner Gnigler has made the boards slightly shorter than their predecessors, which reduces swing weight and improves response speed during pop. This makes sliding moves and aerial spins faster and more controlled, bringing triple moves well within the boards’ range. Although shorter than previous JP shapes, the new boards are still longer than many other models on the market, ensuring accessible all-around performance in all conditions.
The flat scoop rocker line generates the lift needed for early planing and high-speed performance and our new ultra-light technology enhances that enormously
The deck's dome is now crucial in ensuring riding stability not just in a regular stance but also when riding switch. As most moves are now executed in switch stance, the board design must accommodate this additional task. The subtledome is the perfect balance between pushing for performance while still maintaining stability during moves.
The tail provides a balance between width and thickness, giving ample flotation while allowing the rider to sink it for a powerful take-off. The light-weight makes the boards fly higher and they feel lighter and easier to throw around in the air.
The bottom shape features a defined V from the mast base forward, which is combined with a soft tuck line. This combination supports a smooth ride and forgiveness during sliding moves.
We incorporate a flat V bottom shape towards the tail, along with a pronounced tuck line. This combination offers exceptional grip, immediate power, and a high-riding water position, while also providing a loose feel to the board.
The boards come with double footstrap plugs for maximum control.
More than just conventional freestyle boards, all sizes come with JP’s reinforced Foil-Powerbox and their compact and wide shapes make them ideal toys for foil riding! This widens the range of use of your “small” gear: Just mount a foil and fly – while other freestylers with their normal fins are stuck on the beach waiting for the wind to pick up. JP’s short Freestyle boards provide enough ease and stability to pick up this segment of our sport quite easily. Advanced foil freestylers can push their limits and pull-off their first crazy moves at the EFPT “foilstyle” events.
Although not specially designed and tuned for it, the shape dimensions also allow for the use of a wing.
JP’s three Freestyle boards are ultra versatile and can be used in a wide range of conditions, from fun freshwater events to hardcore PWA and EFPT freestyle events on the sea. With their short and compact shapes, they are extremely responsive and spin very fast, making them great for both recreational and professional sailors. The new S-TEC technology gives these shapes an additional overall performance boost, making them feel superior to their predecessors in every aspect of planing. They now feel even more nimble and incredibly light! Overall, these super-light boards provide a complete and enjoyable package for all skill levels.

RIDER TALK
Yentel Caers about the new technology:
“The Freestyle shapes have just been renewed in 2024 and they are the best boards I've ever had! Now, it was time for the next step: The goal was to make the Freestyles lighter and at the same time as durable and stiff as our current Innegra boards. With the new construction we achieved this goal, because my test board was incredibly light and in five months of intensive sailing, it didn't break. That was a huge success! At first I was sceptical because for me, first priority is to have a strong, durable board and weight only comes second. In most cases, light and durable don't go together, but our shaper and development team proved me wrong. Having a light board under your feet - without having to worry about it breaking - is fantastic. The improved performance will take your freestyle skills to the next level!”
Sam Esteve about the shapes:
“I love this Freestyle board because it offers an exceptional combination of performance and versatility. Its tail shape allows me to keep the speed when ducking and on switch stance. Its rounder nose helps to maintain control during sliding moves and to keep up the energy required for multiple pops. This is the board that allows me to push my limits with confidence and serenity.
My favourite setup is the 4.0 sail with the 85L board in strong winds and on flat water.
The compact shape makes for an excellent planing start and a smooth glide.
The JP Freestyle is the ultimate board for those who want to push their limits, whether aiming for big combos or just starting out with freestyle tricks."

from 127 reviewsAfter purchasing this wing earlier this year it has noticeably made tacks so much smoother and overall upgraded my riding. I bought the 3.0 and 5.0 metre and my 3.0m flies very well in both underpowered and overpowered conditions
I purchased the Unit SLS 2025 wing earlier this year and it has made tacks so much smoother and upgraded my riding. I also bought the Duotone Carve 3.0 D/LAB 2025 with the 800 front wing and once again it’s been a game changer, having a great amount of glide which works perfectly for both wingfoiling and kitefoiling!
All thanks to the H2O team that always have loads of knowledge, passion for watersports and go above and beyond!
Preferring not to throw away my (now discontinued) North Red boom which had a broken cuff, I called H2O to see if there was any way to salvage it. I spoke with Matt who was very knowledgeable and helpful but came off the phone somewhat resigned that I might not be able to get the part. However to my surprise a little while later I was blown away (with a force 5) when I got a call to tell me he’d sourced one for me. And here I am now, a week on, with all the bits I need to get back on the water; whoever said people don’t have time to help others! So the moral of this story is have a little faith and try H2O!

Ordered a 1350 Glide 2.0 to progress on to from my 1750 aero free. Being a heavier rider I've found it's now my go to foil wing, initially a bit harder to get on the foil compared to the aero free but once up it feels completely effort less! Thanks to the team for getting me sorted out 🤙
James, Matt and the H20 Team are absolute gurus of the water sports industry, friendly, helpful and knowledgable. They will always give the right advice and come up with superb deals and first class support, thanks guys for always helping me to make the right decisions over the last 20 + years!
My new mast arrived from H20. Sports and it was so worth the wait. You immediately notice how much stiffer it is compared to the v1 carbon version when riding. The foil feels more responsive and direct .It also glides longer in transition s and riding bumps.
Its well worth the upgrade in my opinion.
I bpught this wing to replacr my Unit 5.5 m wing for tje summer breezes as i never liked using big wings. This wing is really powerful in the low end and allows you to pump really efficiently to get on foil with a bit of technique.
You can size down by half a metre with this wing compared to a Unit.
Its still fast and so good iwhen you roll into a tack.
Perfect quiver would be a 3 m , 4m & a 5 m in the Float for all conditions.
Its a great price too as lower than Dlab and SLS wings but with great performance.
As one of the H2O riders I have really enjoyed the variety of kit H2O have available. Including the Duotone sky surf 35Ltr which quickly become my favourite board because of its shorter and thicker shape while being low in litres it still allows me to get it out the water in some lighter winds. However it comes into its own when the wind is strong and the waves are pumping with its incredible manoeuvrability. Paired with the Duotone units (that are light weight and precisely balanced) wave riding is a dream.
I've been one of those riders who thought one board was enough. Turns out a downwind board has opened up so many more days on the water. I cant believe how easy this beast gets going in 6 knots. I use my 8' board with the 1100 and 1595 Duotone Glide. It's like a whole new sport. Whilst I've tried paddling up, I think I'll stick to winging for now (although can't wait to try the Stash Parawing).
Lots of the benefits of the DLAB Unit but without the price tag. Strong, light, and powerful. It's been great in all conditions, handles really well when over powered. I bought the 3.5, 4.5 and 5.5 to cover all eventualities. Personally I prefer the handle option which works really well with my harness. Matt and the team really helpful in deciding on the sizing.
I absolutely love my 65L/4'9" Sky Style SLS Wing Board. I'm about 88kg and it suits me for most conditions. Easy planing, great in waves, sold for jumping. Incredibly light, especially when paired with a DLAB Carve 800 foil and mast, which makes it a great overseas travel option too. Carbon finish and colours look great (picture on website doesn't do it enough justice). Not a big fan of the front foot straps overlapping but going to put the new v-strap on which will sort this.
I usually go for the DLAB or SLS Concept Blue Units but this wing has had great reviews so thought I'd give it a try. Great power delivery and handling, really light weight but solid construction. The wing’s dihedral and tension profile give amazing flight balance so although designed for wave/downwind, I think this wind would suit all levels. Bought teh 5m for the summer but bought a 4 ready for the winter swell.
The 2025 Unit is a good allrounder fast, stiff & light wing.
I prefer to size down my Unit as they are really grunty wings.
They also have great top end aswell and the white colourway looks cool.
I have ridden the Skybrid SLS 70 litre and its a great hybrid board between a short wave freesyle board and a mid length shape.
Easy to get up though its narrower than my previous boards and does require a little more effort.
The big advantage is the early planing speed to get on foil and the glide.
Its a good allrounder in waves and flat water.
