Atom Back Wing... Prone Surf, Wing Surf, Freestyle, Wake, Tow, Foil Assist. A surf and control oriented carbon tail designed to unlock intuitive maneuverability, precise pitch control, and a looser, more playful feel across all KT Foiling front wings.

FULL DESCRIPTION

KT Atom Back Wing...

The Atom Surf Tail is Kane’s favorite maneuverabilityfocused stabilizer, built to bring surfstyle control, confidence, and responsiveness to any foil setup. It’s designed for riders who prioritize turning, feel, and adaptability over maximum glide or topend speed. Compared to higheraspect tails like the Pulse, the Atom Surf delivers a more reactive, playful ride while still maintaining strong pitch stability. Its carbon construction lets riders size down the tail without losing lift, reducing drag while keeping control smooth and predictable. The Atom Surf Tail works seamlessly across the entire KT foil range, and with proper shimming and spacing, it can be tuned to pair with other foil systems as well. Riders can dial in lift, balance, and feel based on stance, fuselage length, and front wing choice, making it a versatile, surf oriented tail that adapts to any setup.

SIZES

KT Atom Back Wing. Sizes: Available in 121, 141, 161, 181 square centimeters

121 cm². The most lively and carve focused option in the lineup. It feels sharp, reactive, and instantly engaged, built for riders who want maximum responsiveness and a short, surf feel while still keeping pitch control locked in. The carbon layup lets you run it smaller than noncarbon tails for the same lift, cutting drag and giving the ride a crisp, controlled edge. Best paired with smaller to midsize front wings when you want looseness and agility without losing confidence or precision. Common front wing matches:

• Halo – Ideal with 550 Surf, and great when you want the loosest, most reactive Halo feel
• Loosens up bigger front wings like the 800 and 950
• Solus – Ideal for 565 to 775 for cruising and turns
• Atlas – Pairs well with the 570 and 680 for surf oriented riding
• Nomad -700 and 830 surf and cruise

141 cm². A balanced, do everything daily driver size that feels smooth, lively, and composed. It keeps the surf forward character of the Atom but adds extra stability for choppier water, winging, or slightly heavier riders. When you want maneuverability without giving up control, this is the size that stays predictable, responsive, and confidence inspiring in all conditions. Best paired with midrange front wings across most families, delivering a clean blend of looseness, stability, and all conditions versatility. Common front wing matches:

• Halo – 550 to 800, both cruise and surf setups
• Solus – 650 to 1110 cruise, depending on rider weight and conditions
• Atlas – 570 to 960 surf and cruise
• Nomad -700 and 830 surf and cruise
• Instinct – ideal progression and advanced pairing once riders step down from the learning tail

161 cm². The stability oriented option in the Atom family, the 161 feels calm, planted, and composed. It smooths out speed changes, chop, and transitions with extra pitch damping while still keeping that signature surf connected Atom feel. This is the size you reach for when you want control and confidence at higher speeds or in mixed, messy water without losing the intuitive responsiveness that makes the Atom so fun to ride. Best paired with mid to larger size front wings, or any setup ridden fast in variable conditions where stability becomes a performance advantage. Common front wing matches:

• Halo – 550 to 950, especially when you want added surf and freestyle stability
• Solus – 930 cruise setups
• Atlas – 790 to 1130 surf, and a strong choice when conditions get unpredictable
• Nomad – 830 to 980 surf and cruise

181 cm². Feels planted, predictable, and confidence building. It delivers the most pitch damping and forgiveness in the Atom Surf range, giving you a calm, settled ride through speed changes, chop, touchdowns, and high impact moments. The foil tracks cleanly, holds composure when pushed, and gives you steady, intuitive feedback that makes bigger wings, heavier riders, and learning environments feel smoother and more controlled. Best paired with larger platforms or higher impact riding where stability becomes a performance advantage. Common front wing matches:

• Halo – 950 Halo locked in stability
• Atlas – 1130 and 1340 surf setups
• Nomad – 980 and 1160 cruise and surf
• Instinct – 920 through 2200 for intermediate cruising

KEY FEATURES

Atom Back Wing... Geometry.

Designed around typical surf tail angles, Atom Surf delivers a familiar, intuitive balance right out of the box. When switching between tail families or foil systems, riders can fine-tune the shim angle to hit their ideal lift and front to back balance. High aspect tails generally need less angle to create the same lift, while Atom Surf prefers a bit more engagement to maintain its connected, surf driven feel.

Atom Back Wing... Performance.

Optimized for surf feel, freestyle response, and confidence in high impact moments. Atom Surf keeps pitch steady and predictable, letting you push harder through turns, landings, and surface contact without the foil ever feeling nervous or overloaded. It delivers that connected, controlled feedback that lets you ride more aggressively while staying fully in command.

Atom Back Wing... Efficiency.

While it’s not a race focused tail, Atom Surf stays efficient enough for nearly all surf, wing, and wake scenarios. Because you can run a smaller size for the same lift, overall drag drops, and the whole setup feels cleaner, quicker, and more responsive. You get meaningful efficiency without sacrificing the control and surf feel that make Atom Surf shine.

Atom Back Wing... Agility.

High agility by design. Atom Surf feels quick, reactive, and playful, unlocking a tighter turning radius, faster transitions, and a more expressive surf style ride across disciplines. It shines in moments where instant control and intuitive handling matter more than pure glide, giving you the freedom to carve harder, redirect faster, and stay fully connected to the foil.

Atom Back Wing... Construction.

Carbon construction delivers a stiffer, lighter-weight tail compared to composite tails, giving the tail a sharper, more connected feel on the water. The added stiffness lets you size down without losing lift or pitch control, reducing drag and boosting responsiveness. You get cleaner feedback, quicker engagement, and a more precise ride, all without sacrificing durability or confidence under load.

WHATS IN THE BOX

Protective wing sleeve included for safe storage and travel, keeping your gear secure and ready for the next session.
